Changelog
What changed, version by version
In plain language, with the date of each release. Internal test builds that were never published are not listed.
The published 2.0.x releases belong to the earlier Mac development line. The first commercial AURIS 1 release is planned as 1.0.0 after qualification. The 0.1.0 development build is not a public release.

Version 2.0.24
- Passages no longer lost. When a passage comes back much shorter than what you actually said, AURIS now transcribes it again with its second speech engine and keeps the more complete text.
- Speaking another language. If you speak a language other than the one set in AURIS (for example Italian while AURIS is set to French), those passages are now transcribed in the language actually spoken.
- Cleaner endings. No period is added any more after a sentence that ends with a comma, a colon, a slash, a dash or an opening parenthesis. A question mark inside closing quotes counts as the end of the sentence.

Version 2.0.23
- No more repeated sentences. On rare occasions, a sentence could appear several times in a row in the text. AURIS now detects and removes these loops, whichever speech engine is used.
- A 5-minute safety net. After a successful dictation, the recording stays on your Mac for 5 minutes, so it can be recovered if something went wrong, then it is deleted automatically. Only one recording is ever kept this way.

Version 2.0.22
- No more waiting on cleanup. With Apple’s engine, cleanup now takes at most two seconds; beyond that, AURIS inserts the text with its basic cleanup.
- Consecutive dictations. Two dictations in a row are separated by exactly one space.
- Fewer wrongly filtered passages. Long dictations that contain a web address or a common phrase are no longer cut.
- Settings that do what they say. With “Auto-insert after transcription” off, the text is only copied to the clipboard. With “Enable history” off, nothing new is saved.
- Private files. AURIS’s local files (history, license) can only be read by your macOS user account.
- Removed. The quick re-transcription feature has been removed, so recordings are no longer kept for it.

Version 2.0.21
- Slow dictation fixed on some Macs. AURIS now uses Apple’s speech engine only when macOS has the files for your language ready; otherwise it uses its own engine. Once ready, those files stay ready, even after restarting AURIS.
- No more empty dictations. A dictation that came back empty is now transcribed again with the other engine instead of being lost.
- Memory freed when idle. The local model is properly unloaded after a period of inactivity.

Version 2.0.20
- Shortcut that stopped responding. After certain key combinations, such as the screenshot shortcut ⇧⌘4, the dictation key could stop working until AURIS was restarted. Fixed.
- The file you download is the file we tested. Each version is now published exactly as it was tested, without being rebuilt at publication.

Version 2.0.19
- Text now appears in Word, Outlook and OneNote. Some apps reported the text as inserted when it was not. AURIS now checks that the text really arrived and, if not, pastes it.
- Your clipboard is respected. After pasting, your clipboard is restored, and anything you copied in the meantime is no longer overwritten.
- “Send right-arrow after insert” now works as the setting describes.

Version 2.0.18
- Two shortcuts you choose. Preferences › Shortcuts now offers “Hold to talk” (right ⌥ by default) and “Hands-free” (right ⌥ + right ⌘ by default). You can record your own combination for each.
- From hold to hands-free without a cut. Switching from one to the other does not stop the microphone.
- The explanations are translated into AURIS’s 8 languages.

Version 2.0.17
- Short dictations stay faithful. On very short dictations, the cleanup may no longer change a word or an accent; only capitals and punctuation can change.
- Clear questions get a question mark in the 8 languages (and “¿” in Spanish). Ambiguous sentences are left as they are, and no exclamation mark is ever invented.
