Terms of sale and use
Version of September 26, 2026.
These terms govern the purchase of AURIS licenses and the use of this website. Sales have not opened yet: these terms will apply to every purchase once they do. The use of the software itself is governed by the license agreement.
1. Who we are
AURIS is published by DBM Strategy LLC, a limited liability company formed in the State of Delaware (United States), 2915 Ogletown Road, #4266, Newark, DE 19713, United States, Delaware file number 7013780. Contact: contact form. Full details in the legal notice.
2. Who sells to you: Paddle
Our online sales are handled by Paddle, our authorized reseller and merchant of record for all orders: Paddle.com Market Limited, 30 Old Bailey, London EC4M 7AU, United Kingdom, or, depending on your country, another Paddle company named in Paddle’s buyer terms. When you buy AURIS, you buy it from Paddle, which takes the payment, calculates and collects taxes such as VAT, issues your invoice, processes refunds and handles payment questions. Paddle’s buyer terms apply to the purchase. DBM Strategy LLC remains the publisher of AURIS and grants you the license to use it.
3. What you buy
- A license to use AURIS, not the software itself.
- For one person, on up to 3 devices that person uses.
- Perpetual for the major version purchased (for example 1.x): it does not expire and needs no subscription.
- Fixes and security updates for that major version, at no extra cost.
- A later major version is optional. Existing customers can get it at the reduced price shown on the pricing page when it is released.
Today AURIS exists for Mac only. The system requirements are on the download page; the free trial lets you check them before you buy.
4. Price and taxes
The price is the one shown on the pricing page when you order. In the European Union, prices are shown including VAT. Before you pay, Paddle shows the final amount in your currency, with applicable taxes. You pay once: there is no subscription and no automatic renewal.
5. Free trial
The trial lasts 15 days, with all features, no account and no payment card. To keep dictating after the trial, you need a license.
6. Delivery and activation
After payment, your license key is sent by email to the address used for the purchase, usually within a few minutes. You activate it in AURIS › Preferences › License; activation needs one internet connection per device. After that, AURIS works offline. If the email does not arrive, check your spam folder, then contact us.
7. Founder offer
When sales open, the first 300 AURIS 1 licenses bought at the founder price are sold at the price shown on the pricing page. Only purchases at the founder price count toward these 300 licenses; a purchase made with a personal code is charged the amount of that code and uses no founder place. Once the 300 licenses are sold, the standard price applies. No license is sold before sales open, and joining the waiting list reserves no license. The 14-day refund guarantee applies as for any purchase (section 8).
8. Refunds
You can get a full refund within 14 days of purchase, without giving a reason. This guarantee adds to your legal rights, including the EU right of withdrawal. Details in the refund policy.
9. Discounts
Education and waiting-list discounts are applied by our system before checkout, under the conditions shown on the pricing page. An education license is for study and teaching only.
10. Using this website
This site informs you about AURIS. We try to keep it accurate and available, without being able to guarantee that it always is. You may not try to disrupt it or access it by unauthorized means. Texts, visuals and the AURIS name and logo belong to DBM Strategy LLC unless stated otherwise.
11. Liability
AURIS turns speech into text on your Mac. Like any recognition software, it can make mistakes: review your text before using it, especially in professional, legal or medical matters. AURIS is a tool; it gives no legal, medical or other professional advice.
Nothing in these terms limits liability that the law does not allow to be limited, in particular for death or personal injury caused by negligence or for fraud, nor your statutory rights as a consumer, including the legal guarantee of conformity of digital content in the European Union. Within those limits, our total liability related to a license is limited to the amount you paid for it.
12. Applicable law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Delaware (United States). If you are a consumer, this choice does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the law of your country of residence. If you live in the European Union, you may also bring a claim before the courts of your country.
If something goes wrong, write to us first: most issues are settled in one exchange.
13. Changes
We may update these terms. The version that applies to a purchase is the one in force on the day of that purchase. The date of this version is shown at the top of the page.
14. Languages
These terms are published in English, French, Italian, German, Spanish, Portuguese, Dutch and Polish. The version in the language you used to buy applies to you.
AURIS 1 launch licences
AURIS 1: standard price $99; founder offer $69 for the first 300 paid founder memberships. This is a licence purchase, not a subscription. All launch offers cover AURIS 1 only.
