A very small company, one person who approves every release, and a tool whose claims you can check yourself.
Who we are
AURIS is published by DBM Strategy LLC, a limited liability company registered in the United States (Delaware), 2915 Ogletown Road, #4266, Newark, DE 19713.
AURIS is made by Elio, who founded and runs the company.
Why AURIS exists
We wanted dictation that gives clean text, ready to send, without sending your voice over the internet. And we wanted that claim to be something you can check, not something you have to believe.
How we work
- A very small company. Few people, one product, and one person who answers for it.
- AI helps us build. The code and the texts are prepared with the help of AI agents. We say so openly: a product that asks you to check its claims should not hide its own method.
- A person approves every release. Each version is frozen, installed and used for real by Elio on his own Mac, then published exactly as tested, without being rebuilt.
- Changes are public. Every published version is listed in plain language in the changelog.
What we don’t do
- No telemetry: the app sends no usage statistics and no crash reports.
- No account needed to try or use AURIS.
- No sale or rental of personal data, and no advertising.
- No fake reviews and no generated testimonials.
Policy
How we use AI in our content
This policy covers everything we publish: this site, the help pages, the blog, our emails and our posts. It applies to this page too.
- Site, help and blog. Written with the help of AI tools and reviewed by a person. Elio is responsible for every published page. Articles and legal pages show their date.
- Translations. Prepared with the help of AI, then reviewed by native speakers before publication.
- Reviews and testimonials. Never generated. Only real users, with their written consent, their name or initials as they choose, and a date.
- Images, voices, faces. We never present a person, a voice or a face generated by AI as real. Generated illustrations are labeled as such.
- Demonstrations. Real recordings of the app, with no editing that changes the result. The text you see is the text AURIS produced.
- Figures. Every figure comes with a source or a published measurement method.
- Communities. Posts on Hacker News and Reddit are written by Elio himself.
- Support. Replies are drafted with the help of AI and sent by a person, and each reply says so. If we ever add an automatic assistant, it will clearly tell you that it is an AI.
- AI inside AURIS. The models that transcribe and clean up your text run on your Mac. The trust center lists them.
