For lawyers
Dictate letters and briefs. Nothing leaves your Mac.
Hold a key and speak: clean text appears in Word, Outlook or your practice software. Your voice, your clients' names and your drafts stay on your computer.
Mac with Apple silicon, macOS 13 or later. $99 once.
Confidentiality
Client information does not go to a cloud.
ABA Formal Opinion 512 (July 2024) asks lawyers to understand how an AI tool handles client information, and says that before information about a client's matter goes into a tool that can learn from it, the client's informed consent is generally needed.
AURIS works differently. Transcription and cleanup run entirely on your Mac. Nothing is sent while you dictate, and AURIS does not learn from what you say. Whether a tool fits your obligations is your call: here is exactly what AURIS does, so you can judge.
- No audio or text sent while you dictate
- No account, no telemetry
- Works with Wi-Fi off
- Your dictations train nothing

Coming from Dragon
Used Dragon on a Mac?
Dragon for Mac was discontinued in 2018. AURIS is a dictation app built for today's Macs: hold a key, speak, and the text arrives in the app you are already using.
- No voice training: it works from the first dictation
- Your client names and legal terms, through a glossary you fill in
- Hands-free mode for long dictations, up to 10 minutes
- One price, no subscription
Hold the key, speak, let go. Your text appears at the cursor.
What you get
Built for letters, briefs and file notes.
Text to review
Cleanup aims to preserve your meaning. Review the result before sending.
In the software you already use
Text is inserted into compatible text fields. If insertion is unavailable, paste it from the clipboard.
Names spelled right
Add client names, courts and Latin phrases to your glossary once. AURIS writes them your way.
Long dictations
Hands-free mode: start with a shortcut, stop with the same one. Up to 10 minutes at a time.
Recovering saved audio
After capture stops, a saved recording may be recovered following an incident. Recovery is not guaranteed if recording is interrupted before it is saved.
Your history, on your Mac only
Your last 20 dictations are kept on your Mac so you can copy them again. You can turn this off.
Example
A letter, dictated.
You say: “um dear Ms Kowalczyk further to our call uh the brief will be filed on Friday I will send you a copy the same day”
AURIS writes: “Dear Ms Kowalczyk, further to our call, the brief will be filed on Friday. I will send you a copy the same day.”
Fictional example.
- The same gesture in Word, Outlook or a web form

Questions
Questions lawyers ask
My office runs on Windows.
AURIS is Mac-only today, and we give no date for Windows. You can join the waiting list from the download page. Buy AURIS only for what it does on your Mac today.
Does AURIS meet my professional obligations?
That is for you to judge; no software can decide it for you. What we can do is describe precisely what AURIS does and does not do, on our trust page.
Is it really local?
Turn Wi-Fi off and dictate: it works the same. And the list of every connection AURIS can make is public.
An American company?
Yes, DBM Strategy LLC. That is exactly why AURIS was built so that nothing passes through our servers while you dictate.
Why $99 once, and not a subscription?
There is no server to rent: your Mac does the work. So you buy AURIS once, your version keeps working for good, and you get an invoice showing the tax. Try it for 15 days, and you have 14 days after purchase to ask for a refund.
Can my assistant use my license?
A license is for one person, on up to 3 devices. For a firm, buy one license per person in a single payment, with one invoice.
I don't have time to learn a new tool.
It is one key: hold, speak, let go. There is no voice training and no account to set up.
